Endangered: Spaceport Bravo

Spaceport Bravo is our second region/island/sim with Cape Canaveral’s huge VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building), Saturn V Apollo moon rocket, and Space Shuttle on display; we will not have room on Spaceport Alpha to display them if we lose Bravo, except for the Saturn V.

For those who are broke and have asked what they can do, we say simply spreading the word will be valuable, and we thank you in advance!  The best way to do this is to show people our ISM video made by Earth Primbee, stored at Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjfZ0imm6U4  Let’s get the “views” total up from the 400s into the thousands!

19 August 2009 We have an anonymous donor who will match donations from other supporters on a one-for-one basis to try to keep Spaceport Bravo alive until we get our 501c3 status!  Now’s the time to donate, since each of your dollars will count twice!

1 August 2009 We have kept Spaceport Bravo alive for another month (until August 25th.   See our balance sheet (updated at least weekly and sometimes more frequently, especially as the due date approaches).

We are five six months into our wait for the US tax department (IRS) to decide on our application for nonprofit 501c3 status.  When/if it’s approved, our monthly tier (rent to Linden Lab) for each region will drop from U$195 to U$147.50  [53,625 Linden$ to L$40, 625]. The good news is that we have just received a letter from the IRS, requesting more information, so we are in the last stretch. Hang in there with us as we finish this last hurdle to tax-exempt status, and help us survive until that is granted!

If you would like to donate on a more than one-time basis, please see our Donation Subscription page here and sign up for a half-year of small monthly contributions.

All proceeds from donations are used to help maintain the museum, and pay our non-profit corporation’s expenses. Our workers are all volunteers, so no donations are used to pay salaries or personal expenses. The ISM Corporation is a Kansas Non-Profit Corporation whose only activity is to support the International Spaceflight Museum. The ISM owns 2 islands in Second Life, Spaceport Alpha, and Spaceport Bravo.
