Spaceport Bravo Grand OpeningThe International Spaceflight Museum (ISM) in Second Life is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of our second 16-acre sim, known as Spaceport Bravo. To celebrate the Grand Opening, the ISM will host a week long celebration beginning on May 5th 2007 starting with the official opening, and a celebration of the 46th anniversary of Alan Shepherd's historic flight into space aboard the Freedom 7 spacecraft. This week-long celebration will include the unveiling of many new exhibits, lectures, demonstrations, rocket launches and dancing. The ISM is Not NASAI was at an SL trade fair the other day and got into a conversation with a nice fellow there. For some reason, I ended up telling him that I'm with the International Spaceflight Museum (ISM). His reply was something like, "Oh. Hey, are you involved with that NASA build on Spaceport Alpha?" Aaaaaargh! There is no NASA build on Spaceport Alpha. That's where the ISM is located, and the ISM is not NASA. This isn't the first time someone thought the ISM was NASA. I guess when people see rockets and such, they just automatically assume NASA is involved. Edumuve List includes ISMEdumuve.com has posted a list of places of interest to educators in Second Life. The International Spaceflight Museum was included.
