Spaceport Bravo Grand Opening Schedule

The Spaceport Bravo Grand Opening will be a week long celebration. The following is an outline of proposed events and daily themes - all times SLT (PDT).

This schedule might change slightly, so be sure to check back.

Saturday May 5th


9 AM - Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the gate between Spaceport Alpha and Spaceport Bravo (Kirra Ball), then Kat Lemieux will talk about how the museum got started and some of the crazy and wonderful things that have happened since.

12 Noon - Presentation about the anniversary of Alan Shepard's historic flight on May 5, 1961. At the Central Stage in Spaceport Alpha sim. Presented by Troy McLuhan.

1 PM - Rocket launches for Euro timezones. Location: The roof of the Vehicle Assembly Building on Spaceport Bravo.

7 PM - Rocket Launches for American timezones. Location: The roof of the Vehicle Assembly Building on Spaceport Bravo.

8:30 PM - Paisley Beebe *live* on the roof of the Vehicle Assembly Building! Paisley is a fabulous jazz vocalist - Leonie Smith in RL. Location: VAB roof in Spaceport Bravo sim.

Sunday May 6th


12 Noon - Rocket launches for Euro timezones. Location: The roof of the Vehicle Assembly Building on Spaceport Bravo.

1 PM - Lora Chadbourne will meet people in Spaceport Bravo to show them her Lunar Excursion Module (LEM) model and to answer questions about it. Informal.

6 PM - Rocket Lanches for American timezones. Location: Spaceport Bravo, ground level.

7 PM - Dancing on the roof of the Vehicle Assembly Building! Come try out some of your dance animations! In Spaceport Bravo sim.


Monday May 7th


7 PM - The talk originally scheduled at this time will now be later in the week as the speaker became ill.


Tuesday May 8th - Manned Space Missions Day


6 PM - Chris Reitveld will meet people at Spaceport Bravo to talk about the making of the VAB.

7 PM - Jimbo Perhaps will meet people at Spaceport Bravo to talk about his new Space Shuttle model.

8 PM - Lora Chadbourne will meet people at Spaceport Bravo to talk about her new LEM model.


Wednesday May 9th


A day off just in case Linden Lab decides to do an update.


Thursday May 10th - Interplanetary Missions Day

10 AM - "Roving Mars: What is it like to be on the surface of the red planet?", a presentation by Patio Plasma. Location: the Central Stage on Spaceport Alpha sim.

Friday May 11th - Rocketry Day

8 PM - Dance at the Galactic Dome on the roof of the Vehicle Assembly Building! DJ Cher Harrington will be featured with her mix of Rock and Roll and favourite hits. Location: Spaceport Bravo sim, on the roof of the VAB.
