Spaceport Alpha Overflows for Shuttle Launch Event

Today's live coverage of the Space Shuttle launch was great fun! (It even launched this time.) Thanks to NASA TV for making their feed streamable into Second Life. Thanks also to everyone who turned of bling and other scripts to reduce server load: the sim never crashed.

Spaceport Alpha had over 70 avs in it at one point (even though the limit is set to 70... I'm not sure how that works).

CDB Barkley (aka Alan Levine) wrote about his experience at the event on the NMC Campus Observer blog.

Thanks to buridan Simon who set up extra seating at the Kula Theater (in Kula and three other sims).

This was left today on one of the email laptops scattered around Spaceport Alpha:

I came and watched the live space shuttle launch earlier today. I havent experienced anything like this before, thanks for creating this special little place in SL.
