RocketsNew Machinima Video Features ISM ContentWatch this YouTube video by SL resident Earth Primbee to see some of the ISM exhibits in action, including the Titan II rocket launch, and images of several other exhibits. Some of this video was recorded on Elon's Moon platform, and other parts feature NASA film clips. All in all, a great video!
Snapshot of Helori's Saturn IBI just grabbed a quick pic of Helori's latest contribution to the ISM. Good job, Helori! The IB is the smaller rocket just to the left of the Saturn V. It's smaller in comparison to Saturn V, but still one of the largest in our collection!
saturn 1b is complete !at last the saturn 1b is completed. i put her on a plinth next to her big sister, Da vinci's saturn v if any one cares to see her. i think they will get along very well. now i will take a break and charge up my energy again to do the LK lander. time to go exploring and of course, shopping !
ISM in WIRED MagazineThe latest issue of WIRED Magazine (October 2006) has an article "Second Life - Our guide to the Web's coolest destination". You'd think that WIRED would know the difference between the Web and the Internet, but putting that aside... the article includes a fold-out map pointing out some of the places they find interesting, with photos from many of them, including the ISM. Here's what they say about it: "International Spaceflight Museum - Come visit an island bristling with scale replicas of rockets from the dawn of the Space Age to the present day. There are also regular lectures and demonstrations, and a bitchin' planetarium."
Museum Featured in Issue 1 of Digital TravelerDigital Traveler is a new magazine about the great places in SL, with lots of artfully-taken photos. Their first issue (a PDF document) has an article that includes many photos from the International Spaceflight Museum. They wrote: "Featuring dozens of detailed replica models of space vehicles throughout history, the International Spaceflight Museum is one of our must-see locations in Second Life."
MissionsThis section contains details of various spaceflight missions, especially those which encompassed several flights, such as the Apollo program or New Horizons.
