Apollo Capsule & Moon Landing Points

A few days ago I sent a snapshot postcard to Snapzilla with a picture of one of our newer exhibits, DaVinci Doctorow's Apollo capsule, and Troy McLuhan's Moon Map that shows the locations of all the Apollo landings. These objects are found under the rocket ring, to the west of the pathway from the landing point to the stage, just beyond the NOAA exhibit.

Cypress Rosewood Concert was Wonderful

Cypress Rosewood came to the museum to perform his music live at the central stage tonight.

Cypress Rosewood LiveThere were over 65 people in the sim at one point, but it never crashed. Yay! Unfortunately, Cypress' SL client crashed a few times, but that was okay because his music kept coming through the audio stream just fine.

There was a one-hour pre-show, where Cypress played some space music by other musicians and talked a bit about the museum. (The show was also being broadcast on WFRN Radio Free Nashville.)

New Exhibit "The Nearest Stars"

I put out a new exhibit which shows the 20 stars and star systems nearest to the Earth. It is up on a platform near the Pluto platform, connected to that platform by a bridge.

If you click on a star, it will do a little flare animation, play a sound, and give you a one-line summary of information about the star.
